The Congressional Research Service released Dec. 28 a report updating its summary of the provisions of the Pension Protection Act that are applicable to the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation's pension insurance program.

The report, Pension Protection Act of 2006: Summary of the PBGC Guarantee and Related Provisions, Order Code RS22513, updated Dec. 20, revises an earlier report by the same name and order code (236 PBD, 12/12/06; 33 BPR 2919, 12/19/06), to add a sentence to the PBGC director provisions noting that PPA Section 411 creates a new director position to administer the agency.
