The Congressional Research Service Dec. 7 released a report updating its summary of the provisions of the Pension Protection Act that are applicable to the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation's pension insurance program.

The report, Pension Protection Act of 2006: Summary of the PBGC Guarantee and Related Provisions, Order Code RS22513, updates an earlier report by the same name and order code to add the increase in the single employer premium to $31 per participant for 2007, released by the agency Nov. 30 (232 DLR A-14, 12/4/06), up from the current $30 rate.
