Insurer Must Defend Despite No Release Date

Under Illinois law, an insurer has a duty to defend a policyholder against superfund allegations if the underlying complaint fails to specify when the release occurred but can be construed as alleging a release during a coverage period, a federal trial court ruled Aug. 19 (United States v.
